First Friday & First Saturday
As part of our First Friday & First Saturday observance the St. Scholastica Chapel will be open for continual adoration starting 9:00am today until 1:00pm Saturday.
Mass on First Saturday will be at 8:30am with a Rosary offered afterwards.
Prayer Vigils
On Thursday, November 12, James Dwight Pavatt is scheduled to be executed for the 2001 Oklahoma County murder of Robert Andrew. In peaceful opposition to the death penalty, a prayer vigil will take place that day at 9:00am near the front gate of the state penitentiary in McAlester where the execution will take place. Prayers will be offered for Andrew, Pavatt, their families and the correction officers taking part in the execution. Those not able to travel to McAlester are welcome to pray with this intention on Thursday in the St. Scholastica Chapel.
Personal Note
I will be away from the parish from November 11 through November 20. It will be part personal pilgrimage and part vacation. It will include visits to Mount St. Mary Seminary, where Blessed Stanley Rother prepared for the priesthood, and the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Both are in Emmittsburg, Maryland. There are also plans to visit our seminarians in St. Louis and Indiana. Please know that I will be praying for you. I ask that you pray for me as well.
Fr. Williams will be here during this time. Our regular Mass and confession times will remain the same.
